An Original Vintage 7" x 9 1/4" [18 x 23 cm] Television Still (Learn More)

The $64,000 Challenge, the 1956 - 1958 Steve Carlin & Joseph Cates television (TV) quiz show (made at the height of the quiz show era, and it offered massive prizes for its time!). It had four different hosts over the three years it was on: Vincent Price, Edward G. Robinson, Ralph Story, and Sonny Fox
Important Added Info: Note that this great TV still (which measures 7" x 9 1/4" [18 x 23 cm]) shows host Vincent Price towering over contestant Billy Pearson as he is handed his winnings. Bill Pearson (often referred to as Billy Pearson) was an American jockey in the 1940s and 1950s with over 800 wins. But after a serious riding accident, he had to retire from horse racing, and he went on two television quiz shows in 1956 and 1957. These were the $64,000 Question and the $64,000 Challenge, and he won an astonishing $170,000 between the two shows! He appeared on a single episode of "Perry Mason" (not surprisingly, playing a jockey), and he occasionally appeared in other movies. He became interested in art early on, and he had an extensive collection, and later in his life, he became a dealer in pre-Columbian art. He was married six times (writer Sam Shepard dedicated his play "Fool For Love" to Pearson!). He passed away in 2002. It is interesting to note that both of these individuals became major art collectors (one wonders if they knew each other before the show, and if this connection helped get Bill Pearson on the show, and maybe got him some answers too!).

Condition: very good to fine. The still is in very nice condition!
