An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel Movie Poster (measures approximately 46 1/2" x 63") (Learn More) Interrupted Melody, the 1955 Curtis Bernhardt musical biography melodrama ("The greatest musical drama since 'The Great Caruso'"; "MGM presents a wonderful motion picture in CinemaScope and COLOR!"; "Based on Her Life Story by Marjorie Lawrence"; the story of famed opera singer Marjorie Lawrence, who was stricken by polio at the height of her career) starring Glenn Ford, Eleanor Parker (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; as Marjorie Lawrence), Roger Moore (in one of his earliest credited roles!), Cecil Kellaway, and Peter Leeds NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Roger Soubie Important Added Info: Note that this French one-panel measures 46 1/2" x 63" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had only minor fold and border wear, and was overall in quite nice condition prior to linenbacking. At some point after linenbacking, the poster was slightly roughly handled and there are now slight creases in the left and right borders (mostly in the excess linen, but very slightly in the edges of the poster). This is surely a minor defect, as it is only slightly in the blank borders, and will never show when the poster is framed. The poster was well backed, and looks great!
