An Original 1964 (from the first release of this movie in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese Two-Panel "STB" or "Tatekan" Movie Poster (2p; measures 20" x 57" [51 x 145 cm]) (Learn More)

The Pink Panther, the classic 1963 (released in the U.S. in 1964) Blake Edwards English/U.S. detective mystery crime comedy spoof ("You only live once... so see the Pink Panther twice!!!"; this movie spawned a long running series) starring David Niven, Peter Sellers (as Inspector Clouseau), Robert Wagner, Capucine, Brenda De Banzie, Colin Gordon, Fran Jeffries (billed as "introducing Fran Jeffries"), Claudia Cardinale ("As the Princess"), and featuring a very memorable musical soundtrack by Henry Mancini! Note that, oddly, this movie had premieres in five European countries in December 1963, and then continued to premiere in other countries in early 1964, and finally had its U.S. premiere in March 1964. We have no idea why the producers of the movie took this most unusual releasing strategy. This allowed the producers to make a sequel movie soon after filming on this movie ended, and that sequel, A Shot in the Dark, premiered in the U.S. in June 1964, just three months after this movie first played in the U.S.!

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Japanese poster!

Condition: good to very good. Both panels of the poster have a very light horizontal crease across the poster at upper and lower center from it being stored with posters that were tri-folded. The lower half of the upper light horizontal crease in the top panel has slightly unevenly darkened (see our image) as well as the lower light crease in the bottom panel (but to a lesser extent). The poster otherwise has never been folded and it in pretty nice condition (and after a pretty simple linenbacking it would display quite well).
