Liberace (born Wladziu Valentino Liberace) was a flamboyant pianist and occasional actor from the 1930s to the 1980s. He was a classical pianist prodigy who turned "mainstream", and became a major star in the 1950s, performing with his trademark candelabra on his piano. He only appeared in a few movies, including Sincerely Yours. He passed away in 1987 at the age of 67 from complications of AIDS.

Important Added Info: Note that this color publicity photo has been personally autographed (signed) by Liberace! Also note that this still measures 8 1/2" x 11 1/4" [22 x 29 cm]. Finally, note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic.

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
