An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Yellow Stain, the 1922 John Francis Dillon silent small town lawyer crime melodrama (from the story by Jules Furthman; about a lawyer who opposes a powerful lumber baron by taking on a case against him; he finds out that the father of his girlfriend has conspired with the baron and is willing to testify against him, but the baron wounds him the night before, but he manages to testify the following day, assuring the lawyer's victory, and the love of his sweetheart!) starring John Gilbert, Claire Anderson, J.P. Lockney, Mark Fenton, and William Robert Daly. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Note that John Gilbert was billed as "Jack Gilbert" in this movie (which is how he was billed in movies at this time). He had uncredited roles in 1915 and then had credited roles in 1916, but he still spent the next several years not achieving major stardom. One of his first major roles was in 1922 when he starred in an early version of "The Count of Monte Cristo". Of course, he would become a top star of the mid 1920s, and then he would co-star with a very young Greta Garbo, and the rest, as they say, is history!
