An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 12 1/4" x 18 3/4" [31 x 48 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) It Pay$ to be Funny, the 1947 Bud Pollard comedy short compilation ("Adapted from Poppin The Cork, Off The Horses, Affairs of Pierre, Going Spanish") starring Bob Hope and Milton Berle, Bert Lahr, Willie Howard (Lahr and Howard are billed as "Featuring Bert Lahr and Willie Howard"), Leah Ray, Norma Taylor, Janet Reade, Aileen Cook, Russ Brown, Arthur Jarrett, and Doug Leavitt NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the film distributor "Astor Pictures" primarily distributed re-releases of major studios in the late 1940s and 1950s, but they DID produce a few of their own movies, including this one. This is the first release of this movie, and it NOT a re-release! Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good, NO CUTS. There are some faint smudges on the covers. Learn More about condition grades
