An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) The Last Ride, the 1944 D. Ross Lederman World War II (WWII) black market profiteering crime mystery thriller (about a pair of brothers who are on opposite sides of the law, and the policeman brother pretends to be kicked off the force, so he can join his brother's gang of rubber racketeers) starring Richard Travis, Charles Lang, Eleanor Parker (in one of her earliest credited roles), Jack La Rue, Cy Kendall, and Wade Boteler NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that Eleanor Parker had a pretty minor role in this movie, but the poster designer recognized her delicate beauty, and put a giant image of her face on this style B half-sheet, with just a tiny image of the lead actors fighting! Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: good. The poster was folded once horizontally and three times vertically. There were many creases, scuffs, and faint smudges throughout the poster, and pinholes, creases, smudges, and tears around the edges of the poster, including a 4" diagonal tear in the right of the top border that extends down into Parker's hair. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed under the circumstances, but you can still see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects (and the only way to completely restore the poster would be to re-paint large portions of it). I think many collectors could enjoy this poster as it is, in spite of the clear defects. Learn More about condition grades
