An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/4" x 30" [34 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Bush Christmas, the 1948 Ralph Smart Australian juvenile adventure melodrama (about five children in the Australian Outback deceived by horse thieves, and they set out by themselves to track them down and get their family's horses back!) starring Chips Rafferty, John Fernside, Helen Grieve, Stan Tolhurts, Pat Pennym and Nick Yardley and The Bush Boys. Note that this is one of the best regarded Australian movies of the 1940s. The children are given intelligent things to say and do, and one of them is the Aborigine son of one of the family's employees, and he is not treated in a demeaning way. First release posters from this movie are extremely rare, especially from the 1948 Universal U.S. release! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Australian movie! Condition: good. There is slight discoloration along the upper horizontal fold with tiny bits of paper loss. The daybill is otherwise in pretty nice condition, and certainly a competent restorer could repair the defects described above, but please bear in mind the cost of restoration before placing a bid.
