An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 16 3/4" [36 x 43 cm]) (Learn More) Nick Carter, Master Detective, the 1939 Jacques Tourneur aviation airplane crime mystery thriller ("His first thrilling screen appearance!"; based on the popular series of pulp magazines in the 1930s) starring Walter Pidgeon (in the title role as Nick Carter), Rita Johnson, Henry Hull, Stanley C. Ridges, Donald Meek, Addison Richards, and Sterling Holloway. Note that Nick Carter was a fictional detective first created in 1886 in magazines and books. The first silent movies with the character were in 1908, and there were pulp magazine stories in the 1930s. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that it looks like the left, right, and bottom borders might have been trimmed, but actually, they were printed with a "full bleed", something MGM was doing at the time, which means there were no white borders when the card was printed (although the top blank area has been neatly trimmed off). This window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: good. The blank top was neatly trimmed off. There are stains around the edges, with a few dot stains scattered in the image. The bottom right corner was detached and there were two tears and a crease in the right border, and someone put tape on the back of those areas. Learn More about condition grades
