An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) The Secret Bride, the 1934 William Dieterle political corruption romantic marriage melodrama (based on the play 'Concealment' by Leonard Ide; about the daughter of a governor who is about to marry the Attorney General, and right after they marry, her father is accused of bribery, and they keep their marriage secret to avoid scandal) starring Barbara Stanwyck, Warren William, Glenda Farrell, Grant Mitchell, Arthur Byron, and Douglas Dumbrille NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the movie is called "Concealment" on the snipe glued to this still, which was the working title for this movie! Also note that the still shows a great candid image of Stanwyck standing in a very deco room, wearing a "smart jacket and tie of silver cloth over a dark red gown"! Note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of the still, and then folded over to the front. This was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby (and of course, the snipe would be folded backwards, so it would not show). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off.
