Like many actors, he worked for many years in films before achieving much success, but unlike most actors, he started as a character actor, and his sheer talent made him a leading man many years later! Some of his movies include: The Odd Couple, Sunshine Boys (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Kotch (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Fortune Cookie (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), A Face in the Crowd, Charade, Fail-Safe, and The Bad News Bears. He passed away in 2000 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Walter Matthau! Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 7 1/2" x 9" [19 x 23 cm]. This item comes from the collection of Duane Robinson, a longtime theater manager who obtained many signed items from celebrities he worked with. He has passed away, and there are no certificates of authenticity with any of his items, but we believe the signatures to surely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
