At the age of seven, he was the youngest student ever accepted at the acclaimed Juiliard School of Music. Hamlisch has won several major awards for his work including the Golden Globe, Grammy, Tony, Emmy, and Oscar, and contributed to the soundtracks for several movies including: The Sting, The Spy Who Who Loved Me, and Sophie's Choice. He passed away in 2012 at the age of 68. Important Added Info: Note that BOTH index card AND the letter have been personally autographed (signed) by Marvin Hamlisch (a fan wrote to Mr. Hamlisch and sent him an American Music stamp on an index card and asked Mr. Hamlisch to sign it, and he did so, and also signed his return letter, which is written on his stationery; see our images)! Our consignor purchased this signed item from a major auction house, but they did not provide him with a certificate of authenticity.
