An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (released in other English-speaking countries as "Abbott and Costello Meet the Ghosts"), the 1948 Charles T. Barton monster horror spoof comedy ("It's a grand New idea for Fun!"; the eighth Universal Frankenstein movie, and this time they added their #1 comedy team to both liven up the series, and to inject comedy; many people fondly remember this as their favorite of the 1940s Frankenstein movies!; "Jeepers! The Creepers are after Bud and Lou!"; "The laughs are MONSTERous! Bud and Lou are in a stew when they tangle with the Titans of Terror!"; "The monsters of menace vs the masters of Mirth!") starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello (Abbott and Costello), Lon Chaney Jr. ("The Wolf Man played by Lon Chaney"), Bela Lugosi (returning as Dracula after being long absent from the role; "Dracula played by Bela Lugosi"), Glenn Strange (in the title role, playing the Frankenstein monster; "The Monster played by Glenn Strange"), Lenore Aubert, Jane Randolph, Frank Ferguson, Charles Bradstreet, and Vincent Price (in a cute cameo, as the voice of The Invisible Man at the end of the movie!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a board backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original lobby card (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: very good. The card had creases, smudges, pinholes, some tiny tears, and some tiny paper loss around the edges of the card. There was a rough horizontal crease in the middle of the left half of the card running through Abbott & Costello's credit. There were some smudges and stains in the purple area in Frankenstein's chest and a few minor defects scattered through the image. The card was really expertly restored. It appears the borders have had thin new paper laid over them, but it is really not at all noticeable. You can see slight signs of restoration in the image, and signs of the creases in the middle left when you look at the card from inches away, but from any distance, they are really not noticeable. The card HAS had significant expert restoration, so please do not bid on it, unless you have read the above carefully, and have looked closely at our super-sized image. The card displays great, and would look fantastic on any collector's wall! Learn More about condition grades
