Date Sold 3/12/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Twenty-Four-Sheet Movie Poster (24sh; measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) Jason and the Argonauts, the classic 1963 Don Chaffey English/U.S. science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy adventure thriller ("For the first time on the screen!"; "The epic story that was destined to stand as a colossus of adventure!"; "A colossus of adventure!"; "Greatest Odyssey Of The Ages!"; "For the first time on the screen... The glory that was Greece... The legend that was Jason!"; "From the makers of 'Sinbad' in spectacular dynarama the incredible search that became the most exciting legend of all." with incredible special effects by Ray Harryhausen, who was also an associate producer!) starring Todd Armstrong (in the title role "as Jason"), Nancy Kovack ("as Medea"), Gary Raymond, Laurence Naismith, Honor Blackman (as Hera, Queen of the Gods), Niall MacGinnis (as Zeus), and Bill Gungeon (as Triton) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Howard Terpning Important Added Info: Note that this twenty-four sheet was printed in 12 sections designed to overlap. Also note that this poster needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 16" x 38" x 2", so it will cost more to send than items that fit in our standard flat packages, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses. Finally, note that this is one of a remarkable collection of ELEVEN 24-sheets we are currently auctioning, and they are from 1957 to 1986, years that you would not expect ANY 24-sheets to have survived from, and they include first release 24-sheets from both Star Wars and Return of the Jedi, which are surely in the handful of most rare Star Wars posters there are! THIS auction is for the 24-sheet from "Jason and the Argonauts", perhaps Ray Harryhausen's best movie ever. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to add any of these eleven posters to your collection! Condition: very good. The small section in the top left was on the outside when it was fully folded, and there is some paper loss on one of the folds and some darkening on the back of that area. There are many creases scattered through the center of the poster (caused when the sections were fully folded), and there is some fold and border wear throughout the poster, but nothing serious. It is amazing that this poster survives at all! Learn More about condition grades
