She went to Europe and achieved enormous success (and notoriety) in the Follies Bergere and other shows, because she danced nude in some of her dances. She only starred in two movies, both in the 1930s: Zou-Zou and Princess Tam-Tam, but she appeared in smaller roles in some movies in the 1920s and the 1940s and 1950s. She continued performing throughout her life, and was performing in a stage show, "An Evening with Josephine Baker", right up until she passed away in 1975, at the age of 68.
