Note that the one-sheet poster for this movie features a life preserver which has both a swastika and "S.S. SHICKELGRUBER" on it (Shicklgruber was the name that Adolf Hitler was said to have been born with, since his parents were never married and his mother 's last name was Shicklgruber)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that Three Stooges collectors place a high premium on posters from the shorts that had Curly in them, before he was replaced by his brother Shemp, especially the ones from during World War II or before. We previously auctioned this exact poster four years ago, and it has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still the only example we have ever auctioned! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top crossfold, with separation at the center of the top and middle crossfolds, and there was tape on the back of those areas. There was also tape on the back of the left and right ends of the top two folds, where there was paper loss, and all of the above tape pretty slightly bled through to the front. The poster had some darkening and scuffs on the rest of the folds, with pinholes in the corners. It had tape in the left and right of the top blank border and some pinholes and light staining in the center of the top blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. In spite of this, this really rare poster displays well just as it is, or certainly, one could choose to have some additional restoration performed. Either way, the new owner of this poster will have a really great and really rare poster to display on their wall! Learn More about condition grades
