Date Sold 8/6/2013 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed Autographed 4" x 5 1/4" [10 x 13 cm] Cut Album Page (Learn More) Tab Hunter is an actor from the 1950s to the 1990s. Some of his movies include: Battle Cry, Damn Yankees!, and The City Under the Sea. He resurfaced in the 1980s, playing the leads in two John Waters movies, Polyester and Lust in the Dust AND Larry Parks was an actor from 1941 to 1962. He is surely best remembered for his starring role in The Jolson Story (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; and its sequel, Jolson Sings Again). Some of his other roles include: Freud, Down to Earth, and The Gallant Blade. He was being groomed to be a major romantic lead, but then he was called as the first witness before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAAC), and he initially refused to "name names", which earned him the dislike of many patriotic Americans, and then he eventually DID "name names", which earned him the dislike of many others, and that combination of events effectively ended his career (it is interesting to note that Lucille Ball, then the number one TV star, was allowed to quietly testify, and that had no effect on her career!). Important Added Info: This cut album page has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH Tab Hunter AND Larry Parks. It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display (but of course, if that is done, one would have to choose which of the two autographs to display)! Our consignor is a very longtime collector of movie paper who purchased this item years ago, and it was signed, but he doesn't know how the signature was obtained, and he (and we) believe it is likely that the autograph is authentic. Condition: good to very good. There is some ink transfer around the Tab Hunter autograph from the page that was facing it. Learn More about condition grades
