DeMille was a legendary director from the 1910s to the 1950s. What makes him so remarkable is that he made some of the very first great movies, including "The Squaw Man" in 1914, but he was one of the only great silent directors to have no trouble transitioning to sound, and he made great movies in the sound era, even into the 1950s! Some of his movies include: The Ten Commandments, The Greatest Show on Earth, and Samson and Delilah. Of course, he also had a memorable acting role in Billy Wilder's "Sunset Boulevard" in 1950 (he did a great job, but it was made easier because he was playing himself!) AND Jeanie MacPherson was a legendary actress, director and writer from the 1900s to the 1950s (but she is certainly best remembered as a screenwriter, and she had a long association with legendary producer/director Cecil B. DeMille). She was one of the foremost early women in Hollywood and was one of the founders of the Motion Picture Academy. Some of her movies include: The Buccaneer, The Ten Commandments, and The King of Kings AND Louella Parsons was a gossip columnist and radio star from the 1910s to the 1950s. She was the first American movie columnist and her articles appeared in 400 newspapers around the world. Important Added Info: Note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock.
