The best ex-cop in the business."; "Inspired by the exploits of Eddie Egan"; inspired by the life of real-life tough cop Eddie Egan) starring Robert Duval (in the title role as Eddie Ryan), Verna Bloom, Henry Darrow, Eddie Egan, and Felipe Luciano. Note that Eddie Egan was the police officer who was the real-life inspiration for Gene Hackman's character in "The French Connection"!
