He was the 38th President of the United States of America from 1974 to 1977, taking over after Richard Nixon resigned. In one of his most controversial acts, he granted a presidential pardon to Nixon for his role in the Watergate scandal. Prior to his presidency, Ford was a member of the House of Representatives and later House Minority Leader. He passed away in 2006 at the age of 93.
