Horne & Ray Taylor masked superhero crime action serial ("Based upon 'The Spider' Magazine Stories"; "A Columbia Chapter Play"; "Waging war without mercy against a satanic killer!"; the character "The Spider" in 1930s pulp magazines was similar to Doc Savage, in that the lead character had a band of very interesting followers, who, with him, traveled the world battling evildoers, and this movie stayed pretty faithful to the source material) starring Warren Hull (in the title role as "The Spider"), Iris Meredith, Richard Fiske, Kenne Duncan, and Forbes Murray NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that even though each card has "The Spider's Web" on the title, and they have no indication of being a re-release, they are actually from the 1947 re-release of this movie. Columbia would sometimes issue undated re-release cards. To complicate matters, an advanced collector tells us that the scenes from this lobby cards are actually from the 1941 sequel to "The Spider's Web", which was called "The Spider Returns"! Apparently, the studio was careless when creating these 1947 re-release cards and accidentally used the scene from the sequel. The collector informs us that the cards are still extremely rare, and of course, four of the six cards have a great image of Warren Hull in costume! Condition: good to very good.
