An Unfolded Polish Commercial Poster (made to be sold directly to the public; measures 23 3/4" x 31 1/2" [60 x 80 cm]) (Learn More) Les Enfants du Paradis (released in the U.S. in 1947 as "Children of Paradise") the classic 1945 Marcel Carne French epic theater performing arts romantic love triangle comedy melodrama (covering many years in the lives of many people, including an actress and a famous mime, and their many interlocking relationships; this is rightly considered in the handful of greatest French movies ever made!) starring Arletty, Jean-Louis Barrault, Pierre Brasseur, Pierre Renoir, and Maria Casares. Note that this movie was made immediately after France was liberated from the Nazis in late 1944, and it premiered in Paris in March of 1945, which makes it all the more remarkable! It did not go into general release in France for an entire year after, in March of 1946.
