He wrote for The New Yorker magazine for more than 60 years, authored several books and contributed film criticism for Film Comment. He was also active in the preservation of New York landmarks and other visual arts. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Brendan Gill! Our consignor (who was a diplomat for the U.S. in exotic locations) obtained this autograph either through personal correspondence or from one of the other diplomats she worked with. We are 100% certain that this item came from the person listed, but we can't be 100% certain that they signed it themselves, because possibly a secretary signed it. However, given that they were writing to a diplomat rather than a fan, we think it is far more likely that they would have signed it themselves rather than have a secretary sign it.
