Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Hey! Hey! Cowboy, the 1927 Edward Laemmle & Lynn Reynolds silent cowboy western comedy (based on the story by Lynn Reynolds; about two ranchers who develop a feud over a new woman in town!) starring Hoot Gibson, Nick Cogley, Kathleen Key, Wheeler Oakman, and Slim Summerville. Note that director Edward Laemmle has been largely forgotten by film history, but he has a VERY interesting biography! He is the nephew of Carl Laemmle, who persuaded him to leave his electrical engineering career in 1915 and join him at his recently opened Universal Studios. He started as an assistant director, mainly under John Ford. In 1917, he went to New Guinea to produce a movie about the natives there, and was shipwrecked, and spent two years among the Kia Kia cannibals! This adventure was re-created in the movie "Shipwrecked Among Cannibals", which became the first million dollar movie for Universal Studios. Edward Laemmle went on to direct roughly 50 movies, and had many famous assistants, including William Wyler! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. the poster was linenbacked; prior to restoration there were several brown tape stains in the blank borders; there was small paper loss at each crossfold; other than the above basically minor defects, the poster was truly in nice condition! the person who restored the poster put new paper over much of the blank borders (it was very expertly done and most people would not realize it unless it was specifically shown to them); the areas of paper loss at the crossfolds were very expertly restored; you can see traces of the restoration from close up, but from any distance away the entire poster looks great, and the image area has truly had little restoration!
