My Old Kentucky Home, the 1938 Lambert Hillyer romantic love triangle melodrama ("Story & Screenplay by John T. Neville"; a really wacky story set in the Old South in the then present day; about a woman who travels to New York to marry her cousin, but his ex-girlfriend shows up and tries to commit suicide with acid, but the man tries to stop her, and it gets in his eyes; it turns out he is going blind, so he tries to convince his cousin he would rather be with the ex-girlfriend, but after many more adventures, they end up back together, and he finds his eyesight is coming back) starring Evelyn Venable, Grant Richards, Clara Blandick, Bernadene Hayes, J. Farrell MacDonald, and the Hall Johnson Choir. Note that this movie is loosely based on the classic song of the title, but it is not really a musical (although it does have the black African American Hall Johnson Choir performing several times, including singing the title song).
