An Original Vintage 8" x 10" Television Still (Learn More) Walt Disney was the legendary creator of Mickey Mouse and the Walt Disney Studios. He took cartoons from shorts to feature-length films (beginning with his Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937), and over the next decades, he (and his studio) brought to the screen dozens of feature-length cartoons and hundreds of animated shorts featuring all his lovable characters including Goofy, Donald Duck, Pluto, Bambi, Pinocchio, and many more! Of course, he also had the foresight to create Disneyland and Disney World! He passed away in 1966 at the age of 65, but his studio, his theme parks, and much more will live on forever! Important Added Info: Note that in 1965, there was a TV special called "Sing-Out 65", which had singers from all over the world, and it raised money for charity. It was a great success, and was followed to two sequel events, and in 1968 changed its name to "Up With People", and became a national organization that still exists. For that first event, the producers got famous celebrities, including Walt Disney, to praise the show, so that his picture could be used in the publicity, even though he was not connected to it in any other way!
