Date Sold 11/21/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Chinatown Nights, the 1929 William A. Wellman Asia Tong War romantic crime melodrama ("From Samuel Ornitz' story Tong War"; "A Talking Romance"; about a society woman who falls in love with the white leader of an Asian gang, and she ruins her life, but he truly loves her, and he nobly sacrifices himself so she can regain her former status) starring Wallace Beery, Florence Vidor, Warner Oland (playing an evil Oriental; this is ironic since he later became famous as "Charlie Chan" in the 20th Century Fox series!), Jack McHugh and Jack Oakie. Note that it was after this movie that Florence Vidor retired, and the movie was shot as a silent, and she quit before it could have sound added, and she refused to return to do the dubbing, and it was dubbed by a different actress instead (a very similar thing happened to Louise Brooks with "The Canary Murder Case", which was made the same year by Paramount)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned six lobby cards from this movie, and we have never auctioned THIS card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine. Note that this lobby card is in excellent condition and is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
