An Original Vintage Theatrical Other Company Movie Lobby Card (11x14; LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) St. Louis Blues, the 1939 Raoul Walsh Missouri Mississippi River riverboat romantic musical comedy ("It's romance in swingtime along the Mississippi"; "Based on an Adaptation by Fredrick Hazlitt Brennan of a Story by Eleanore Griffith and William Rankin"; essentially, Dorothy Lamour plays a parody of herself; she is a Broadway star who has made a career of playing girls wearing sarongs, and she goes to St. Louis and gets work on a Mississippi river boat) starring Dorothy Lamour, Lloyd Nolan, Tito Guizar, Jerome Cowan, Jessie Ralph, William Frawley, Mary 'Punkins' Parker, Maxine Sullivan, Cliff Nazarro, The King's Men, and Matty Malneck & His Orchestra NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this was printed by the "other company". This was a company in the Midwest that from roughly 1936 to roughly 1941 printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts and half-sheets) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They never have the name of the releasing studio on the poster or any of the lobby cards. Sometimes, "other company" posters or lobby cards have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters or lobby cards! Condition: good to very good.
