Some of his movies include: Giant, Rough Riders of Cheyenne, and The Big Bonanza. He passed away in 2009 at the age of 89. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Monte Hale! Note that this is an original Dixie Cup premium from the 1940s, but that it was signed in the 1970s at a fan convention. Note that this is a special color 8" x 10" item that was given away as a premium from the Dixie Cup company in the 1940s. The Dixie Cup company created a large number of such premiums, which were given away to kids who sent in Dixie Cup lids. Each premium would have a full-color image of the star on the front, and on the back was biographical information of that star, along with black & white scenes from some of their movies. Every Dixie Cup premium would have two punch holes in one border, and kids could purchase a two-ring binder and store these premiums in it! About the Collection this Item Comes From Note that this item (and 3 others we are auctioning this week, each in its own auction) was consigned to us by a man who was a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1960s on. During that time, he would regularly attend collectibles shows as a dealer, and while he was at those shows, he would sometimes purchase autographed movie items from other exhibitors at those shows. He would also have items autographed by celebrity guests at those shows. Now, decades later, the dealer has consigned these autographed items to us. So all of these 4 autographed items we are auctioning were either obtained in person by this memorabilia dealer at collectible shows, or were purchased from dealers selling autographed items at collectible shows, and we feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic!
