Date Sold 6/2/2011 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 25 Original 1972 Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Stills (Learn More) Carry on Henry (released in the U.S. in 1972 as "Carry on Henry VIII"), the 1971 Gerald Thomas English historical royalty monarchy sexploitation comedy ("A great guy with his 'chopper!'"; "When the honeymoon was over he gave 'em the axe!"; "ALL NEW!"; "A right royal romp with Sydney James as a riotous King Henry VIII!") starring Sidney James (in the title role as King Henry VIII), Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims, Terry Scott, Barbara Windsor, Kenneth Connor, and Peter Gilmore. Note that this was one of a very popular series of 30 "Carry On..." sexploitation movies that were made in England between 1958 (the first one was "Carry On Sergeant") and 1978 (at that point, it became a TV series, and there was one final theatrical movie in 1992)! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best four stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Note that on our larger lots of black and white stills (mostly the ones with nine or more in the lot), there are a small number of lots where there may be one or several duplicated stills in the stills not pictured (we only picture four of the stills on all of the black and white lots). Sometimes we noted when some of the stills not pictured were duplicates to the ones that were pictured, but we likely did not catch that on many of the lots (especially the ones with a large number of stills), so please do not bid on the lots of nine or more stills unless you can accept the possibility that there may be some duplicated stills contained in the lot.
