An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Mexican Movie Poster (measures 27 1/4" x 37" [69 x 94 cm]) (Learn More) La Ilusion Viaja en Tranvia (released in the U.S. as "Illusion Travels by Streetcar"), the 1954 Luis Bunuel Mexican adventure comedy melodrama (about the longtime conductor and mechanic of a streetcar that is about to be "retired", so they "borrow" it for one last ride, which ends up an all night drunken affair, and when they wake up the next morning, they have trouble "returning" it) starring Lilia Prado, Carlos Navarro, Fernando Soto (billed as "Mantequilla"), Agustin Isunza, and Miguel Manzano NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this Mexican poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie, and the last one sold for $415! Condition: good. There is light rippling scattered in portions of the poster due to exposure to moisture and it was folded in half an extra time resulting in a light vertical foldline at left and right. There is tiny paper loss in the woman's knee at lower left. This is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration. It is likely that many or most of the stains can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
