An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Special Double-Sided Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (measures 30" x 40") (Learn More) The Professionals, the 1966 Richard Brooks (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) south-of-the-border foiled-kidnapping-of-rich-man's-wife cowboy western ("When you want action - this is the one you want!"; "Excitement!"; "Based on a novel by Frank O'Rourke"; "Written for the screen and Directed by Richard Brooks") starring Burt Lancaster, Lee Marvin, Robert Ryan, Jack Palance, Ralph Bellamy, Claudia Cardinale ("as Maria"), and Woody Strode. Note that this was a "thinking man's" western, with lots of clever twists and turns, and fine dialogue. This was one of the few westerns to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Howard Terpning Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare 1960s double-sided poster. It is printed on a plastic type of material. This poster was one of a small group of such double-sided posters that were found at one time. Other than this small group, I have never seen any of these 1960s double-sided posters before. Included in the group that was found was a "Breakfast at Tiffany's", which was auctioned in London, and sold for a HUGE amount of money! It appears that it was some sort of experiment that was tried in the 1960s and then abandoned, and not used again until the 1990s, when movie posters were sometimes made in double-sided versions (for use in light boxes). Note that the image on the reverse of this poster is a mirror image of the image on the front! We have provided images of both the front and back of this poster, but of course, your are purchasing ONE poster, not two! Condition: very good. There are some light horizontal creases in the left and right borders in the plastic material, but they are mostly only in the blank border areas. There are some creases and smudges around the edges of the poster. This week we have given a more detailed overall condition grade along with more details about the condition described in words. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, plus there are some defects (like creasing, tape on the back, extremely tiny pinholes, etc) which can be VERY difficult to see, even in our largest "super-sized" image. Therefore we strongly recommend that you BOTH read our written description of the item, AND ALSO look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
