An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (SpanUS 1sh; printed in Spanish in the U.S. for Spanish speaking audiences; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Affair in Trinidad, the 1952 Vincent Sherman Caribbean romantic love triangle murder crime film noir ("Rita Hayworth is back with her 'Gilda' co-star Glenn Ford"; "'You weren't the first... and you won't be the last!'"; "Don't tell Me I'm just one more!"; "Those 'Gilda' stars again in Affair in Trinidad"; about a nightclub singer and her brother-in-law who try to find her husband's killer) starring Rita Hayworth ("is back!"; "is back with her 'Gilda' co-star"; "She's Back!"), Glenn Ford ("her 'Gilda' man"), Alexander Scourby, Valerie Bettis, Torin Thatcher, and Juanita Moore NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet was printed in the United States for use at theaters with Spanish speaking audiences (this was done most by MGM, starting in the 1930s, but it was done by the other major studios as well, and often the posters would have the exact same image as the English language poster, except the writing would be in Spanish, and on posters from the 1930s and 1940s there would be an added "Toda en Espanol!", meaning "Entirely in Spanish!", printed within the image). Sometimes posters from the 1960s or later will have the word "SPANISH" printed in the bottom border (or sometimes stamped on the back of the poster). Also note that this poster has the same image as the rare "style A" one-sheet for this movie! One regularly sees the "style B" one-sheet from this movie, but the style A poster is almost never offered for sale. Certainly it has an extremely stunning image of Hayworth, which might explain why those who own it are unwilling to part with it! Condition: good. There is ink transfer and some darkening throughout the poster. There are creases scattered throughout the poster and there are some pin holes, areas of separation, small paper loss, and tattering along the foldlines and around the edges. This is the sort of poster that responds really well to professional restoration. It is likely that much or all of the staining can be removed through chemical means, after which the poster will look fantastic (although I think most collectors could happily display this great poster on their wall just as it is).
