Green Selig silent historic romantic plantation melodrama ("An enthralling love story of the Southland") starring Vivian Reed (billed as "The girl with the million dollar smile"), Violet De Biccari, Burke Wilbur, Hildor Hoberg, and Roy Southerland. We know little about this movie, but since the two lead actresses are both billed as "The Princess of Patches", and since it is apparently an inheritance plot, it would seem that this movie concerns two sisters, one of whom dies. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This three-sheet was printed in 3 sections. Condition: good. The poster was mounted many years ago on to a very thin linen. There were creases, tears, and small areas of paper loss on many of the foldlines within the image, but fortunately, virtually none in the stars' faces. There was a significant amount of paper loss in the title area mostly in the tops of some of the letters of the word "PRINCESS" and in the "PAT" of "PATCHES". The person who did the backing did pretty amateurish restoration to the title area, and only slightly better restoration to the smaller defects in the image area. If I owned this poster, I would surely immediately have it re-backed. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. This poster was linenbacked, and it had significant defects which were only somewhat repaired during the linenbacking process, or were not repaired at all (we describe both the defects as well as the quality of the restoration below, and based on those comments, you can easily determine which type of poster it is). You should also look at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).
