An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Puppetoon (also known as "Madcap Models") was a series of animated stop-motion puppet shorts created by George Pal in England the 1930s and brought to the U.S. in the 1940s. They are memorable for using a series of different hand-carved wooden puppets or puppet parts for each frame in which the puppet moves or changes expression, rather than moving a single puppet. A typical Puppetoon required 9,000 individually carved and machined wooden figures or parts. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned ANY movie paper for the short in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this poster includes a loose snipe with a movie title (it was never attached to the poster). Condition: very good. The poster has minor fold and border wear and approximately 1" of separation at the left edge of the lower horizontal fold with tiny paper loss.
