Date Sold 12/21/2023 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Key Book Stills (Learn More) King Solomon's Mines, the 1937 Robert Stevenson English Africa jungle adventure thriller ("Adapted from the famous Sir Rider Haggard novel"; "It's actually greater than 'Count of Monte Cristo'") starring Cedric Hardwicke, Anna Lee, Paul Robeson (legendary black African American actor, singer, and athlete, who became disenchanted with Hollywood and the U.S. over racism), Roland Young, and John Loder. Note that the great Paul Robeson does not appear on much of the advertising for this movie, no doubt due to the prejudices of the time, which is sad. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the stills are glued to a linen-like backing (we think it is highly likely that these are key book stills, and that someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the top or left of the still, no doubt so it could be put in a frame).
