Bride of the Storm, the 1926 J. Stuart Blackton silent Dutch East Indies romantic melodrama ("Story by James Francis Dwyer"; a wild story of a little girl and her mother who are shipwrecked on a tiny island with a lighthouse; the mother dies, after telling her rescuers that her daughter is heir to a huge fortune; so they raise the little girl, planning on marrying her, after she grows up, to the "idiot son" of one of them, so that they can steal her fortune, but an American sailor who visits the lighthouse discovers the now-grown girl is being held in captivity, and after two murders and a massive fire, he rescues her and takes her back to civilization) starring Dolores Costello, John Harron, Otto Matieson (billed as "Otto Mattiesen"), Sheldon Lewis, Tyrone Power Sr. (billed as "Tyrone Power"), and Julia Swayne Gordon. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Note that you likely have never heard of male lead John Harron! He was one of ten children from an Irish family, and his older brother Robert was a silent star. But Robert died mysteriously in 1920, and John kind of "inherited" his career while still a teenager! But he didn't have the success of his older brother, although he made a number of movies in the 1920s. But the coming of sound meant his career was mostly over, although he continued in small roles. In 1939, he developed spinal meningitis, and died, and he was just 36, leaving a wife and young daughter. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
