An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) G.I. Blues (GI Blues), the 1960 Norman Taurog rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) Army military romantic musical comedy ("Swing out and sound off with Elvis Presley in the red, white and blue star-bright show of the year!"; "Elvis scores... A singing triumph... And a romantic hit!"; "Written by Edmund Beloin and Henry Garson") starring Elvis Presley, Juliet Prowse, Robert Ivers, James Douglas, and Leticia Roman. Note that Elvis, unlike the vast majority of stars from the 1950s on, did not attempt to get out of his military service, and he went in to the army in 1958 (at the height of his popularity) and he got out two years later, and this was the first movie he made after returning (and naturally, he made a fictionalized version of his life in the military). Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: fair. There is rippling and discoloration throughout the poster from exposure to moisture and the elements. It is bordered in masking tape and the back of the left edge is covered in tape as well. There is writing in the right and left blank borders. There are several creases, smudges and/or scuffs scattered throughout. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
