An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) William Boyd stock, the circa 1950s stock poster used by theaters to advertise re-released cowboy western movies starring William Boyd (as "Hopalong Cassidy"). Theaters would order this poster, which has a large blank area at the bottom or middle of the poster where the studio would overprint the title of a specific movie, thus getting many posters for the price of one. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that unlike many other stock posters that we have auctioned, this particular poster advertises the last film that Boyd was in that was NOT involving the character "Hopalong Cassidy"! It is likely from the mid-1930s when Winchester Pictures contracted Boyd for several movies prior to the Hopalong Cassidy series. We have seen lobby cards from this movie that have Republic Pictures as the distributor with no mention of Winchester. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has creases and some small tears around the edges with some slight discoloration at lower right in the blank border (see our image).
