An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 3 1/2" x 5" [9 x 13 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Mannequin, the 1926 James Cruze silent crime melodrama ("FANNIE HURST'S $50,000 LIBERTY MAGAZINE PRIZE STORY"; "The biggest story among 10,000 manuscripts submitted in the Liberty Magazine contest.") starring Alice Joyce, Warner Baxter, Dolores Costello, Zasu Pitts, and Walter Pidgeon. Note that Liberty Magazine, a popular magazine of this time, held a "prize story" contest where people submitted manuscripts, and the winner received $50,000 and the story was made into a movie. Not surprisingly, they received 10,000 manuscripts, and this movie was made from the winning entry. Also note that Warner Baxter was born in 1889, and in the early 1920s he rose to prominence in silent movies, becoming a major star of the 1920s, while he was in his 30s. He won the Oscar for Best Actor as The Cisco Kid in "In Old Arizona" in 1929, and he remained a top star throughout the 1930s! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good.
