An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Catman of Paris, the 1946 Lesley Selander France crime mystery feline cat monster horror thriller (about an author who goes to France at the turn of the century, and as soon as he arrives, savage killings from a "cat-like creature" start, and he has mysterious blackouts that make him an extreme suspect, but all is cleared up at the end of this 60-minute movie!) starring Carl Esmond, Lenore Aubert, Adele Mara, Douglass Dumbrille, Gerald Mohr, Fritz Feld, and Robert J. Wilke (uncredited in the title role as The Catman) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had a very long tear running from near the center of the top border down through the left side of the Catman's face and into his chest, and ending at the right end of the middle fold. It also had tears and areas of paper loss scattered down the vertical foldline with a lesser amount on the horizontal folds. The borders were folded over at one time and there were many staple holes around the edges, with some paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was fairly well backed, but little restoration was performed, and what was done was not done well. In particular, whatever paint was put on the borders has dried poorly and is cracking and chipping. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have further restoration. Learn More about condition grades
