Date Sold 5/2/2010 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 5 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) The Barbarian and the Geisha, the 1958 John Huston historical Japan Asian political romantic adventure thriller melodrama ("The Geisha Girl They Sent to Love And to Destroy the Barbarian From the West!"; "Story by Ellis St. John"; about the first U.S. ambassador to Japan, Townsend Harris, who was appointed by President Pierce) starring John Wayne (as Townsend Harris), Eiko Ando (in the title role as the Geisha, Okichi), Sam Jaffe, So Yamamura, and Norman Thomson. Note that there is an embarrassing typo on the poster! Original author Ellis St. Joseph is billed as "Ellis St. John"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THIS LOT CONTAINS 5 STILLS, BUT ONLY FOUR OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED! There is an area of discoloration in the upper right corner of the still pictured at lower right, which appears to be from some sort of printing defect.
