An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More)

French Without Tears, the 1940 Anthony Asquith English France school education romantic comedy ("From the Stage Play by Terence Rattigan"; about three young Englishmen in a school in the south of France, and their romantic encounters and that of one of their sisters) starring Ray Milland, Ellen Drew, Janine Darcey, David Tree, and Roland Culver

Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).

The poster had a tiny area of paper loss near the middle of the bottom foldline, and only the most minor of fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in nice condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed (but the restorer did not touch up the tiny area of surface paper loss in the middle of the bottom foldline), and looks great!
