Blystone musical romantic comedy ("Music by Rudolf Friml and other famous composers"; "Screen play by Gertrude Pourcell and Robert Harari"; about jewel thieves who pretend to be talent agents and take a wonderful unknown opera singer to a Hollywood party, so that when he sings, everyone will be distracted, and they can rob expensive jewels; also at the party is an aspiring opera composer, who happens to be young and beautiful, and after many adventures, her and the singer find love and success) starring Nino Martini (real life opera singer with the Metropolitan Opera), Joan Fontaine (her sixth movie, and her third starring role!), Alan Mowbray, Billy Gilbert, Alan Hale Sr., Grant Mitchell, Erik Rhodes, Lee Patrick, and Romo Vincent. Note that in the 1930s, movie theaters tried to bring real life opera stars into movies, and of course, they tailored the parts so that they would do a lot of singing. Nino Martini was one of these, and he only appeared in a handful of movies, including this one! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. There are many pinholes, creases, and tears around the edges of the poster. There is some paper loss at the bottom center. There are many creases, several tears, and some areas of tiny paper loss along the foldlines that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded. There are some creases, smudges, and tiny tears on some foldlines, and some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. This poster has some significant imperfections. We may have written a few words about those imperfections, but we may not have, as you can likely see them by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster. It DOES have clear defects, which are likely to be very noticeable in our "large" or "super-sized" images that you can click on from our small image at right (if the item has significant defects that are difficult to see in our image, then we try to describe those in words elsewhere within the auction). Note that some of these posters have tape repairs on the back, and we note more significant repairs, but we do not note just a few small pieces of tape on the back of a poster.
