Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had fine surface paper loss on parts of the folds. It had a Dutch stamp in the background area to the right of the title. It had many pinholes around the edges, with paper loss in the top right corner, where pins were roughly removed, and also in the top center. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. In addition, the weight of the poster and the fact that it was linenbacked means that you have to handle it very carefully, or what happens is what happened to this poster, which is that the folds have somewhat returned to the poster, affecting the linen behind it. If I owned this poster, I would have it removed from the linen backing and paperbacked, and bear this in mind before bidding on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
