An Original Vintage 7" x 9" [18 x 23 cm] Television Still (Learn More) The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, the 1962 - 1992 Frederick De Cordova television (TV) night time comedy talk show starring Johnny Carson, with sidekick Ed McMahon, and bandleader Doc Severinsen and The Tonight Show Band Important Added Info: Note that this still is from before the first showing of the first episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson", which aired on October 1, 1962. This still was actually made prior to the airing of the first episode, and at that point, they planned to have it air in "Fall 1962", as noted on the top snipe on the back, and the lower snipe says "Beginning in October". Later, when the show actually first aired on October 1, someone hand wrote "Oct 1" on the top snipe. So this great still predates the first episode of this wonderful classic show! We know that for certain because it has the date printed on the snipe on the back. It is very hard to find stills from 1950s or 1960s TV episodes that are absolutely from the first release, and are surely not from a 1960s or 1970s re-broadcast. Note that this TV still measures 7" x 9" [18 x 23 cm]. Also note that this still was printed on Kodak paper, but this is because TV stills were quite commonly printed on Kodak paper (no doubt they needed far fewer stills for TV shows than they did for movies, so it just made financial sense to have Kodak copies made rather than printing large numbers of them). We are certain it is an original TV still, and not a later copy. Condition: very good to fine. There are a few minor creases around the edges. Otherwise, the still is in nice condition!
