An Original Vintage Linenbacked World War I Poster (measures 29 1/2" x 38 3/4" [75 x 98 cm]) (Learn More) On The Job For Victory, the 1918 U.S. World War I (WWI) Home Front poster ("United States Shipping Board"; "Emergency Fleet Corporation") encouraging increased productivity and featuring art of a busy shipyard with ships under construction by Jonas Lie. Note that this poster was printed in 1918 to illustrate the work of the Emergency Fleet Corporation which was responsible for getting the U.S. heavy war production into action in times of national peril. At the height of WWI production, the U.S. was able to turn out a War Ship every 3 days from some shipyards! Artist: Jonas Lie Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a few tears in the left and right borders, with most of the tears being fairly small, but with one 4" tear near the middle of the right border. There were a few minor defects in the top and bottom borders, and a few scuffs scattered in the image. Other than the above, the poster has bright colors and was in nice condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
