The poster had darkening and some scuffs on parts of the foldlines at the top of the poster, and some creases, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Otherwise, the poster was in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and the restorer chose to airbrush over the entire top white background area, as well as most of the other borders. It was well done, and is not evident except on close inspection, but it had the side effect of covering over the NSS number in the bottom right corner (apparently it was damaged, and the restorer chose to paint over it rather than re-create it).
