An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) A Woman Under the Influence, the 1974 John Cassavetes (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) introspective-woman-dealing-with-the-realities-of-her-life mental illness melodrama ("Written and directed by John Cassavetes") starring Peter Falk, Gena Rowlands (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Fred Draper, Lady Rowlands, and Katherine Cassavetes NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, OR it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years, OR it had fairly major defects that were not restorated at all. If it was restored, you can clearly see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had extra creases and scuffs down the center of the poster as well as creases, scuffs, and some tears around the edges of the poster.
