An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 28" x 41 1/2") (Learn More) The Broken Coin, the 1915 Francis Ford silent newspaper journalism reporter fantasy mystery adventure serial ("From the secret panel, Count Frederick watches the result of his plans to trap the girl reporter") starring Grace Cunard, Francis Ford, Eddie Polo, Harry Schumm, Ernest Shields, and John Ford (the legendary director in a rare, early acting role) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this super early one-sheet has a Morgan Litho mark that reads "Morgan Litho Co. Cleveland Master Lithographers"! Also note that this one-sheet measures 27" x 41 1/2". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41". Condition: fair. The poster had a large area of paper loss in the top center, including all of the face of the woman in the mirror at top center and the upper dress and head of the actual woman facing the mirror. There was also a V-shaped area of paper loss at the top of the desk and a long thin area of paper loss in the bottom of the desk and extending into the "D" of "CUNARD" above the title. There were creases, tears, and smaller areas of paper loss scattered throughout the rest of the image. Overall, the poster was in poor condition prior to linenbacking. The person who did the linenbacking did a really valiant job of re-creating what was missing, and filling in the missing areas (I have no idea how he had a reference with which to create her face, and he may well have worked off of a still photo of her). You certainly can tell that the poster has been heavily restored throughout, but I would bet there are no other examples of this poster surviving. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the defects as detailed above, or are willing to pay to have additional restoration performed in it. Learn More about condition grades
